Thursday, February 18, 2010 - Around 17:22 hours, Engine 7-4-2 was dispatched to standby at Dauphin County Station 48. (Hershey) Minutes after dispatch, Engine 7-4-2 was enroute with 8. Once Engine 7-4-2 arrived at Station 48, we were greeted by Girl Scouts that were interested in learning about fire safety. Firefighter Bamberger, gave a 15-20 minute speech on fire safety. Firefighter George, "dressed" up in his fireman gear to show the Girl Scouts what a firefighter looks like when they come searching for people inside someone's house. After answering questions for 10 minutes, Engine 7-4-2's crew decided to relax and watch the Winter Olympics. While watching the Winter Olympics, Engine 7-4-2 and Lebanon Tower 1 (Palmyra) also stationed at Station 48, were dispatched to a reported working shed fire on 130 North Lingle Street. Engine 7-4-2 arrived on the scene with a confirmed working shed fire. One 1 3/4" 200' attack line was pulled as well as a one 1 3/4" 100' bumper line. Engine 7-4-2's Nozzle-man, (Neuenschwander) and Backup-man (Zeiders) extinguished the fire within minutes. The rest of Engine 7-4-2's crew helped with overhaul.
