The E-town Fire Department is 100% Volunteer. We are located in Elizabethtown Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Elizabethtown is located just off of PA Route 283, approximately halfway between the City of Lancaster and the State's Capital, Harrisburg. The department houses a 2003 95 ft. Seagrave Aerialscope Tower Ladder, a 1991 Sutphen Suppression Engine and a 1996 Sutphen Rescue Engine. We provide primary response to Elizabethtown Borough, Mount Joy Township, West Donegal Township and Conewago Township Dauphin County. We provide mutual aide response to Conoy Township, East Donegal Township, Mount Joy Borough, Rapho Township, Londonderry Township Dauphin County, Middletown Borough Dauphin County, Royalton Borough Dauphin County, Highspire Borough Dauphin County, Lower Swatara Township Dauphin County and South Londonderry Township Lebanon County. With an annual call volume in excess of 600 runs. We accept active firefighters from the age of 18 and up. We have a junior firefighter program for students of the Elizabethtown and Donegal School districts who are ages 14 to 17. Our junior program is conducted in accordance with the Pennsylvania State Child Labor Laws. Fire and EMS related training/certifications are provided to all members free-of-charge. We strongly encourage all members to actively pursue our required training as well as unlimited additional training and certifications. DAY ROOM GYM LIVE-INS: The Elizabethtown Fire Department provides an excellent means for college students and other adult members to reduce costs by living at the station. Firefighting experience is a plus but is not required. Firefighters requesting live-in status must be 18 years or older, be a member of the department and must obtain approval from the chief of department. In exchange for living accommodations at no charge, live-ins are expected to perform station duties, respond to calls when on station and attend department training. The Elizabethtown Fire Department is within walking distance to the Elizabethtown College.. It is just a short commute to the following colleges/universities: Penn State Harrisburg; HACC Wildwood Campus; HACC Lancaster Campus; Lebanon Valley College; Millersville University; F&M College. Our day room (lounge) is equipped with plush recliners, reclining sofa, big screen TV, surround sound, seperate gaming TV room and a pool table. Our in-house gym holds state-of-the-art commercial quality free-weight equipment. We are always looking for motivated individuals to become a part of our team.
